Aug 30 On September 15, 2018, RE/MAX Isla Blanca will do its part to clean up the world by participating in World Cleanup Day Ibiza. In fact Ibiza is the only place in Spain that is doing this action and we hope that many places will follow.

World Clean Up Day is a day of civic action that involves 150 countries and millions of volunteers.  The goal is to combat solid waste and marine debris with a united, global effort, while raising global awareness of environmental cleanup and protection.

While World Cleanup Day is a 24-hour event, the purpose of the day is to raise global awareness of illegal littering and dumping and to encourage us all to do our part each and every day to keep our planet clean. This year organizers have would like to engage 5% of the world’s population in the cleanup effort.

World Clean Up Day evolved out of a grassroots movement that started in Estonia to promote global cleanup efforts. In 2006, an Estonian organization called Let’s Do It was able to mobilize over 50,000 volunteers to participate in a one-day, country-wide cleanup effort. In one day, the volunteers managed to eliminate 10,000 tons of waste. As a result of Let’s Do Its success, the movement spread rapidly and evolved into the global effort known today as World Clean Up Day.

It is amazing to see the positive impact that a concerted cleanup effort can have on our environment. It is so easy for us to forget that despite our many differences, we are part of the global community. We all share the same air, oceans, and ecosystem and when the world comes together for a common purpose we can make a massive difference. For example, for every plastic bag that is cleaned up approximately 20 grams of harmful plastic is removed from our environment.

The event will begin in New Zealand and continue across the globe as a “green wave” until it reaches Hawaii. By the end of the day organizers hope to have changed the world.

Ibiza summer 2018!

Aug 2 It’s been another sensational start to the Ibiza summer here at RE/MAX Isla Blanca, and we can barely believe we have entered into the month of August, the hottest month on the island in so many ways!

As the temperature rise and the visitors flock to the island, we are busy matching our clients with their perfect luxury Ibiza villa as they enjoy everything the island has to offer. Bigger and better than ever before, Ibiza keeps on growing and evolving, offering more and more fabulous places to dine, drink and dance the day and night away.

This year has seen the town of Santa Eulalia flourishing as it offers some excellent new restaurants and bars, as well as being home to some of the most sought after real estate in Ibiza. Combine soaking up the rays of the Ibizan sun with fine dining at the excellent Chiringuito BLue, located on the main promenade. Here, the exquisite decor and innovative menu, full of delicious dishes to share or enjoy alone makes it one of our favourite hotspots this summer. We also love Boho House, the quirky bar and cafe in the main square, which is owned by the Las Dalias Hippy Market family, and their quirky, bohemian influence is evident throughout. Over on the west coast, everyone has been talking about the new 7Pines resort, which is open to guests, visitors and island residents alike. Overlooking the bay of Cala Conte, and the infamous, mystical rock Es Vedra, this resort is simply the last word in luxury and elegance. Two excellent restaurants, a cocktail bar designed by the legendary Pershing yacht makers and an expansive spa offering everything from massage to beauty treatments and yoga is available for your enjoyment. On the nightlife scene, the big news this year was Sven Vath taking Cocoon to Pacha after a staggering 18 years at Amnesia, and loyal followers were initially unsure about the change of venue. However the refurbished club has proven itself to still be the cherry on top of the Ibiza nightlife scene, and the move has been hailed as a great success. Over in Playa d’en Bossa, Hï Ibiza is enjoying its second summer of glory with Friday’s Glitterbox and Saturday’s Black Coffee parties proving to be the most popular.

So, there has never been a better time to visit Ibiza, and discover more about everything this magical island can give you, but, be warned, once you arrive, you will never want to leave!
