Spotlight on Ibiza Town
The capital of the island of Ibiza is the majestic, ancient area known as, quite simply Ibiza Town. Here, amongst the cobbled winding streets lies a world of intrigue, mystery, art and culture, which sits side by side with the dazzling marinas and decadent nightlife scene which the island has become so famous for. A place of contrast and beauty, of history and glamour, a place of contradictions, but above all, of great charm.
It’s little wonder that this is one of the most sought after areas when searching for prime real estate in Ibiza, and the centre itself is home to some of the most spectacular and of course centrally located Ibiza villas and houses to be found anywhere on the island.
If you wish to enjoy living in the very heart of the town, then look no further than the majestic walls of Dalt Vila, the ancient fort, whose enchanting streets hold a host of delightful homes, fabulous rooftop apartments and breathtaking villas, all of which offer unforgettable views over the port and the town itself. The Dalt Vila is a thriving area, literally bursting at the seams with cafes, bars, excellent restaurants and boutiques, where you can lose yourself for hours on end. Steeped in history, it also houses many of the islands galleries and museums, such as the Museum of Contemporary Art, Galeria Moli and the Cathedral Santa Maria, all fascinating reminders of Ibiza´s rich and varied history.
Move down closer to the waters, and marvel at the glittering array of yachts, catamarans and speedboats which line the shores of Ibiza´s three beautiful marinas. From Marina Magna, which can be found at the foot of the entrance to Dalt Vila, where the rich and famous moor their superyachts in summer, along to the glittering and vibrant port of Marina Nueva, home to Lio, one of the islands most talked about nightspots, down to the much loved Marina Botafoch, where the abundance of elegant boutiques, restaurants and cafes make it a prime location for those seeking real estate in Ibiza, waterside.
Even though you are in the very middle of this bustling, buzzing town, there are two beautiful beaches just a few minutes’ walk away, the bays of Talamanca and Figueretas, both of which benefit from beautiful sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and breathtaking views over the nearby coastline. Popular with families because of their shallow waters and many beachfront cafes, plus watersports and other activities allowing you to make the most of the glorious Ibiza weather, their close location to the town itself make them some of the most popular beaches on the island.
You cannot possibly visit Ibiza Town without indulging in a little taste of the fabulous nightlife scene which has earned its well deserved reputation as the party capital of the globe. The most famous and arguably the best nightclub in Ibiza is Pacha, located just outside of the main port area, with its distinctive two cherries logo capturing the very essence of Ibiza clubbing. Open all year (weekends only in low season), it´s a must do on any visitor’s list, if only to experience the sheer capacity, bold and beautiful people, and unrivalled ambience. Take a trip to the upstairs terrace and watch the beautiful showgirls dancing inside a giant champagne glass, an unforgettable sight.
So, if you are looking for your ideal Ibiza villa as a home, or an Ibiza real estate investment, then Ibiza Town has a lot to offer and of course the sales agents at RE/MAX Isla Blanca are there to help.
