Mar 27 As the temperatures begin to rise and the island of Ibiza slowly awakens from its winter hibernation, there is always one party which truly represents the very spirit of the start of Spring. The Primavera Fiesta at Atzaro is always one of the most highly anticipated events on the islands social calendar, giving residents and visitors alike the chance to dust off their party shoes and join the festivities as we prepare for yet another fabulous season in Ibiza.
For those of you who have never been lucky enough to visit Atzaro, it is one of the most beautiful venues on Ibiza, hidden away in the countryside of the area of San Lorenzo, home to some of the finest villas in Ibiza. A divinely designed agroturismo which incorporates luxury accommodation, two fine dining restaurants, several bar and chillout areas, as well as sprawling, beautifully cultivated gardens and a heavenly spa.
Each and every year, the magnificent grounds are transformed into a fabulous fiesta space, incorporating different stages for live music and DJ´s, an eclectic an colourful market selling locally made clothes and jewellery, food stalls and pop up bars and much, much more. A whole area is dedicated to the children, with tightrope walking, children´s yoga, drumming sessions, face painting and arts and crafts, meaning that the little ones were never bored! A huge amount of effort goes into the organisation and decoration of this beautiful event, and this year, the party was even raising funds for local charities, by asking for a donation of 5€ per person on entrance.
For 2017, Spring started on Sunday 26 March for the island, and as we arrived at the venue we were greeted by a sublime wall of sumptuous sunflowers, and the Spring theme was very much evident throughout, with fresh flowers and bright colours being the order of the day. The Ibiza weather was very kind this year, with the sun shining down on partygoers for the entire day, and we basked in the healing rays of the Ibizan sunshine as we strolled through the grounds.
We were treated to two fantastic live musical performances, firstly from The Ibiza Lights, led by Spencer Kennedy, who were joined on stage by young dancers from the local Davinia Van Praag Dance Academy, the dance troupe recently won the coveted Gold medal for Spain in the national Modern Dance contest. Later in the evening the melodic sounds of the Ibiza House Orchestra flooded the airwaves and had everyone on their feet with their original covers of classic house music tracks, creating a truly Ibizan vibe!
As the sun went down, many families called it a night due to the crowds, but hundreds of music lovers stayed to dance the night away , with DJ´s such as Anna Tur, Iban Mendoza and Manu Gonzalez all taking to the decks, it was a truly island based affair, showcasing local talent all round.
For the hard core partygoers, the fiesta continued at B12 with Iban and Manu joined by Chino Paino B2B with Jacobo Saavedra at the Ibiza Town location, where the celebrations continued until the early hours.
